More About Me

I'm a 30something female living in the NYC area and 4 time Contiki traveler. My first tour with Contiki was California Highlights. From there I had the travel bug, I've also done the European Discovery, Scandi and Russia (33 day budget tour), and Egypt. I've also done a couple cruises with Carnival and Royal Caribbean and have traveled to Boston, Philadelphia, Washington DC, New Orleans, and Walt Disney World, just to name a few places. Next up? Maybe Eastern Road tour, but wouldn't mind seeing Turkey, Australia, New Zealand, the UK - well, really anywhere in the world.

My Recent Comments

  1. I’m a picky eater and never went starving on this tour. The food was generally very good, with a variety of foods you’ll recognize along with some new things. I barely ate any of the granola bars I brought with me.

  2. I took a quick dry towel, it did dry quick (less of an issue with smelling), but it doesn’t absorb as much water as a regular towel. If you’re picky about a towel, bring an old thin one from home and throw it out at the end of the tour.

  3. I think the view from the Empire State Building is better at night.

  4. Don’t forget to get tickets to a baseball game, Yankee Stadium is a favorite for most. But the Yankees and Mets are both getting new stadiums.

  5. Itter was one of the nicest town’s I’ve ever been in, absolutely gorgeous. It’s a sleepy town, but on Contiki you bring your own nightlife. This was one stop I wont forget.

  6. It’s much easier to walk DOWN Lombard Street, I made the mistake of walking up it when I was there, wont make that mistake again.

  7. Everyone on tour got a good laugh when the Bushman would jump out and scare people.

  8. When I saw my tour was going to Yosemite, I thought, that will be nice. When we got to Yosemite and my TM mentioned hiking I thought, but this is my vacation. Next thing I knew I was hiking to a waterfall and loved every minute of it.

  9. For a great view of the city (especially at night) go to the top of the Eiffel Tower at Paris. It also offers a great vantage point for viewing the water show at the Bellagio.

  10. Subway can be a regional thing too. In Boston they call it the “T” and in Chicago it’s the L, since it’s elevated.
