Morning

First things first, the best way to get around Paris is to use the Metro, it’s very easy to use and a must if you want to experience the city life and save yourself from sore feet! Grab your Paris Visite Pass which offers you unlimited use of both the Metro and the Bus service for 1-5 days for14 euro.

Enjoy you first morning with a cup of cafÈ and a delicious French pastry as you sit outside Stohrer. (51 Rue Montorgueil – Tel: 01-42-33-38-20- Metro: Etiiennl-Marcel) This is one of the oldest and most well known pastry shops in Paris, highly recommended by the locals.

Take in the city with a trip down the Seine River on the Botobus (Tel: 08-25-05-01-01 – it picks up along the Seine every 15-30 min) you can get off and on as you please for 11 euro. This is a great way to plan what sites you want to see during your stay.

Afternoon

Hop off the boat at the Louvre and make your way to the Egyptian Obelisk, this is the oldest man made object in Paris (dated 1200b.c). Near this landmark you will find a food tent near the fountain, this tent hosts the best cr’pes in the city and will help out your sweet tooth just in time for lunch.

A total shopper’s must is Galeries Lafayette. Nine floors full of designer names including Armani, Gucci, Versace, Dior, and the list goes on! If you’re going to get lost in Paris, make sure it’s in this place. (40 bd. Haussmann, ge. Tel: 01-42-82-34-56 Metro: Chausee-d’ Antin)

The Basilique du SacrÈ-Cour sits high above the city in Montmartre district. The large white Church is beautiful, as are the picturesque views from the steps of this 130 year old monument. This is a perfect place to take in the skyline of Paris and snap some amazing photos to send home to your friends. (Tel: 01-53-41-89-00 Metro: Abbesses)

Evening

Take the cobble street around the corner and up to La Bonne Franquette (Angle 2 rue des Saules Tel: 01-42-52-02-42). This is a great family style restaurant with some interesting live music and amazing French onion soup. While you are there don’t forget try the escargot as an appetizer!

There is no better way to spend a night in Paris than at the Moulin Rouge (82 bd. De clichy Tel: 01-53-09-82-82 Metro: Blanche) With more than 100 performers you will get your fill of music, dancing, acrobatics and comedy! When you add new friends and champagne to the mix – what could be better?

Late Night

O’Sullivans- After you sip the last of your Champaigne head next door to this pub. Finish off the night with your new dancing skills or chill out with a pint. Make sure you make it home before sunrise (Closes at 5:00am)

Morning

Start your day with a morning stroll down the Jardin des Tuileries and stop by CafÈ Very (Tel: 01-47-03-94-84 Metro: Concorde des Tuileries) for a quick bite to eat. This trendy cafÈ is situated under the chestnut trees and is sure to save you some cash and fill you up for your full day.

Get to the Louvre and MusÈe d’Orsay early and beat the crowds. You can spend all day in both but you must say a quick hello to the Mona Lisa in the Louvre (99 rue de Rivoli, ie. Tel: 01-40-20-53-70 Metro: Palasis-Royal) then pop over to Monet’s “Water Lillies” at the Musee d’ Orsay. (1 rue de la Legion d’Honneur, 7e. Tel: 01-40-49-48-84 Metro: Musee-d’Orsay)

Afternoon

Cruise the Leader Price- (43 rue Cler Metro: Trocadero) grocery store and put together your very own Persian picnic! You will need bread, cheese, meat, wine and some chocolate for dessert!

There are many places to have a picnic in Paris, but of course the best spot is to enjoy it right below the Eiffel Tower on the grass. After, pay your 10 euro and watch the sunset over the most beautiful city in the world! Get to the bottom by 10:00pm to see the sparkling lights turned on. (Champs de Mars, 7e. Evening

The Avenue des Champs Elysees is a must stop for the best shopping in one spot! All your favorites and some new ones are waiting for you to stroll in. Don’t take a cab on this street because you will be stuck in the bumper to bumper traffic!

Walk to the end of the Champs and find Napoleon’s Arc de Triomphe. Try not to get hit by a car when crossing the street to this monument. There is a tunnel that takes you underground and right to the front. You will have some great view from the top!

A must in Paris is Les Deux Magot- (170 Boulevard St Germain Tel: 01-45-48-55-25 Metro: St. Germain-des-Pres) Enjoy some quiche for dinner at this famous cafÈ/restaurant and soak in the feeling of history and culture on your last night. (Ernest Hemingway hung out here)

Late Night

Finish off your trip to Paris with an all-nighter at Sanz Sans (49 rue du Faubourg St-Antoine Tel: 01-44-75-78-78 Metro: Bastille). This velvet lined bar has the best DJ’s in the City and is a perfect place to finish off your 48 hours in Paris! (Open till 5:00am).
