Uffizi Gallery

The Uffizi Gallery in Florence is unarguably the most outstanding collection of Renascence painting not only in Italy, but anywhere in the world.

Just off the edge of the Piazza Signora in the middle of Florence, the halls of the old government of Tuscany are now filled with beautiful works from greats like Giotto, Simone, Fra Angelico, Filippo Lippi, Botticelli, Correggio, Raphael, Michelangelo and Caravaggio as well as some unfinished works by Leonardo da Vinci. The most famous piece is probably Botticelli’s ‘Birth of Venus’, but this is just one of many in a whole room dedicated to this master.

This is the most popular museum in Florence and there are huge line ups in summer to get in. During summer you may stand in line for up to 3 hours unless you get there very early in the morning.

Tours with one night stops in Florence either spend the morning of the afternoon in the city and it may be best to see your schedule with your Tour Manager before making reservations.
