The capital city of Germany delivers a swirling mix of art, history and culture sewn together into a young, exciting and vibrant city that is still sprouting from its ancient roots. In spite of all its history and status, Berlin has a feel of a city that is still searching for its true identity.
The city is a major draw card not only for people from outside of Europe, but also young Germans who converge on the city for its liberal feel and outstanding nightlife. Culture vultures simply cannot get enough of their time here as they walk amongst the streets, buildings and monuments that have borne witness and pay tribute to a tumultuous past whose events and repercussions molded almost the entire 20th century. Shop-a-holics also will not be denied as the range of shops and departments stores in the city is off the wall.

In the summer check out some of the great bars that open along the banks of the River Spree. They often out down sand and call themselves ‘Strand Bar’ – beach bars!
